(Minghui.org) Officers from the Dahekan Police Station in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, broke into a local woman’s home in early February 2025 and threatened to break her legs and beat her to death.

The police targeted Ms. Jia Xiufang, around 70, because they suspected her of putting up Falun Gong flyers. Falun Gong is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

Ms. Jia’s home was raided and her Falun Gong books were confiscated. Before they left, the police warned her not to go out to put up Falun Gong informational materials again or she’d face the above-mentioned “consequences.”

This is not the first time Ms. Jia has been targeted for practicing Falun Gong. She was arrested at home on October 9, 2023, and detained for ten days. After she was released, the Dahekan Police Station officers kept monitoring her daily activities and harassing her at home. They forced her to sign on a statement promising to not practice Falun Gong and photographed her.

She published a solemn declaration on Minghui.org on September 9, 2024, nullifying the statement she was forced to sign against her will. After the police found out, they harassed her again and ordered her to write a guarantee to not publish anything on Minghui.org.
