(Minghui.org) When I first read Master’s article “Treat Master’s Family Members Properly,” I thought it was for those practitioners who had the opportunity to personally interact with Master’s family members. I didn’t think that I’d ever do what those practitioners did if I met Master’s family members.
At the time, I thought the article was about other practitioners. But recently I re-read it, and this time I had a different view. I now believe this article is for all practitioners.
My understanding from Master’s teachings is that we are Falun Dafa practitioners in this lifetime because, in a past life, we were once Master’s family members. So in a sense, we are all Master’s family members.
When Master told us to treat his family members properly, I believe it also means that we should look within and examine whether we treat practitioners around us with human notions and attachments. If we worship, praise, or depend on other practitioners, especially those who are capable, aren’t we acting like those practitioners Master mentioned in his article?
If we worship or rely on other practitioners, this will interfere with their cultivation. In the article, “The Issue Of Idolizing Practitioners With Supernormal Powers,” the author shared how he believed part of the reason a practitioner had passed away was because other practitioners worshiped him. This worship created a fog around the practitioner, which couldn’t be eliminated by other practitioners’ righteous thoughts. The fog protected the evil beings, which led to the persecution of the practitioner.
Master has many times talked about the issue of looking up to other practitioners, yet some of us didn’t listen properly. Think about it: we cultivate compassion, and we know that looking up to other practitioners will put their cultivation in jeopardy, yet we still do it. So what drives this behavior? It is our human notions and attachments.
Not treating other practitioners properly also includes looking down on practitioners we don’t like or purposely excluding someone. Many practitioners form cliques and seldom interact with practitioners outside their small group. It happens so naturally that they don’t realize they are doing it. Disliking and excluding other practitioners can form degenerate elements in other dimensions that interfere with others and cause division among practitioners.
Things that do not conform to the Fa are arranged by the old forces. The old forces will persecute or even take away the lives of practitioners, given the opportunity.
Cultivation is serious, and Master has given us many chances to fix our mistakes. We should act based on the Fa, and not on our human notions.
When writing this article, with every phrase I wrote, I looked within and measured myself against the same standard, to see if I had the same notions. It has been a precious use of time spent on looking within.
