[Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day] Military Official: Our Construction Contracts Will Go to Falun Gong Practitioners

(Minghui.org) I am from Liaoning Province in the northeast of China. I was a farmer, but now I am working in the construction business. Though the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is still brutally persecuting Falun Dafa, the military officials I work with recognize the goodness of Dafa through me and seek me out for their contracts. On the occasion of World Falun Dafa Day, May 13, 2025, I would like to share some of my cultivation experiences.

Master Bestows Me with Wisdom

I had the opportunity to read Master’s books, Zhuan Falun and Essential for Further Advancement, in the fall of 1997. I then watched the videos of Master’s lectures twice. I realized that this Fa was what I had been looking for, and started on the path of Falun Dafa cultivation practice. Regarding myself as a latecomer to Dafa and considering my poor education background, I spent all my spare time diligently studying the Fa, mostly at night after work. I also went to the villages to spread Dafa to more people by playing the videos of Master’s lectures for them. I understood clearly that I must put the Fa in my heart, truly cultivate myself, and follow the requirements of Dafa to become a good person and even an extraordinary person.

Extensive Fa study and solid cultivation elevated my character. At home, I no longer beat and scolded my wife at will, instead; I required myself to strictly follow the teachings of Master Li Hongzhi, “...so you did not strike back when hit or talk back when cursed at.” (“Lecture Given at the Conference in Sydney”). When my wife hit and cursed at me, I bore it without complaint. Outside of home, I was even stricter with myself. I would do all things following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and treat others with respect.

As my morality improved, Master also purified my body to be free of illness. Furthermore, Master gave me wisdom and abilities in various ways. I improved my technical skills in construction work and learned new skills quickly.

Once, I worked for a private employer who was really happy with my work. He said that he had never met such a good person before and asked me why I was so kind. I simply told him that I am a Falun Gong practitioner and followed Dafa’s standards to be a good person. I told him to remember that Dafa is good. From then on, he always called me “Falun Gong” on construction sites.

No matter whom I worked for, be it a government unit, a private company or an individual, people I worked with accepted the goodness of Dafa, making it convenient for me to tell them about Dafa.

I Did Not Hide My Identity as a Falun Gong Practitioner

Master said,

“If you are a true cultivator, our Falun will safeguard you. I am rooted in the universe. If anyone could harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)

I have no doubt that Master is always protecting me, as long as I regard myself as a practitioner. Most of the time it is not easy to find a suitable place to do the Falun Dafa exercises on construction sites, so I openly practice outdoors without fear. Some people commented from time to time about my bravery and asked me if I was afraid of being arrested. I took these opportunities to tell them about Dafa and expose the persecution to them. If I have a chance, I also elaborate more on the spreading of Dafa around the world and the importance of quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates. Many people acknowledged the facts and agreed to renounce the CCP.

Once, my employer acquired a contract for a military project. I knew that the persecution of Dafa was carried out harshly in the military, but I didn’t waver because I firmly believed in Master’s protection. So I proceeded to work on the project. When we arrived on site, one of the military personnel came to check our identification. He specifically asked if any of us practiced Falun Gong and declared the rule that no Falun Gong practitioners were allowed to work with the military. I answered him honestly, saying that I was the only Falun Gong practitioner and explained that practitioners were good people following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I asked him to put the rule aside, check our work after a few days and let the facts speak for themselves.

Twelve soldiers were dispatched to monitor us at the construction site on the day we began our work. My workers knew me well and understood the facts about Dafa. I reminded them to work hard and do a good job so as not to tarnish the reputation of Dafa. I also told them to report any difficulties along the way and we would resolve them together.

The soldiers stopped monitoring us by the third day. Some higher ranking officials and military engineers came to the site and inspected our work as well. They were happy with our work and confident that they would be satisfied with the project.

There was another construction group working on the site who were not friendly with us. They supplied the cement plaster to us, but intentionally mixed less cement in the plaster mix, causing the plaster to not be strong enough to bond with the stone or brick. I told their foreman about it, but he ignored me. If I escalated the matter to the military officials, it would intensify the conflict. As a practitioner, I shouldn’t fight with others, but should be kind to them. However, my workers were fed up with the situation and urged me to report them. I promised my men that I would take care of the matter in my own way.

I went to the material yard, a few hundred meters away, and carried a bag of cement back to add to the plaster mix. A military official happened to witness what I did and came to see what was going on. Our workers immediately explained the situation. In the end, one worker said to him, “You have just witnessed what kind of people Falun Gong practitioners really are.”

The military officials were very happy with our work after we completed their project. One official openly said at the year-end management meeting, “Our construction contracts will now go to Falun Gong practitioners.” They indeed did reach out to me for another job the next year. However, since I had a scheduling conflict at the time, I was unable to take the job.

The people I have worked with over the years praised my character and recognized that Falun Gong practitioners are good people. Many of them offered me jobs.

It is Falun Dafa that has changed and renewed me. I am now a good person, an even better person, and a cultivator walking on the path of achieving Godhood. I am grateful to Master for bestowing these things upon me.
