(Minghui.org) On the occasion of World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, 2025, the mayors of six cities in the Greater Dallas area of Texas issued proclamations or greeting letters to Falun Dafa, commending the benefits of Falun Gong to people’s morality and health and the contributions of Falun Gong practitioners to the community. At the same time, they praised the great courage shown by Falun Gong practitioners in the face of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal persecution.

The proclamation reads, “WHEREAS, Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual discipline with exercises and moral teachings centered on the universal principle of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance; and

“WHEREAS, Falun Dafa was first introduced to the public on May 13, 1992 in China by Mr. Li Hongzhi. May 13 has been recognized as World Falun Dafa Day since 2000; and

“WHEREAS, adherents in more than 100 countries, by improving their spiritual, mental, moral, and physical wellbeing and deepening their understanding of life, humanity, and the universe, strive to be better through self-discipline and more altruistic by embracing virtue, cultivating character, and returning to true self; and

“WHEREAS, Falun Dafa was first introduced to Dallas-Fort Worth in 1996. Since then, Falun Dafa practitioners have touched lives of residents in Dallas-Ft Worth for over two decades, offering exercises teaching and sharing the benefits of the peaceful practice, particularly through free introductory workshops and outdoor exercises in city's libraries, recreation centers, parks; participating in many community events, such as holiday parades, festivals; and Falun Dafa practitioners have become an integral part of society's fabric; and

“WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners' determination and courage to stand up for Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance while facing severe persecution from the genocidal and dictatorial Chinese Communist Party have demonstrated to the world their indomitable spirit and unyielding will in defending the values and humanity and safeguarding the sacred nature of universal principles, yet still persevering in faith and tireless efforts raising awareness and resisting the oppression through entirely peaceful means for over 26 years; and

“WHEREAS, this proclamation will help recognize the value of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, send a strong message of solidarity to those suffering at the hands of the Chinese regime and a complete denial of its inhumane persecution and forced organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners in mainland China.

“WHEREAS, May 13, 2025 marks 26th annual World Falun Dafa and 33rd anniversary of Falun Dafa's public introduction; and

“WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area will celebrate World Falun Dafa Week on May 11, 2025 in Plano Windhaven Meadow Park.

“NOW, THEREFORE, I, Stephen Mason, Mayor of the City of Cedar Hill, Texas do hereby proclaim May 13, 2025 as WORLD FALUN DAFA DAY in the City of Cedar Hill, and I commend the Falun Dafa Community for their efforts to raise awareness of Falun Dafa as a great way to improve our lives and urge all residents to be aware of the contributions Master Li has made to our world.”
