Belated News: Geological Engineer Subjected to Involuntary Drug Administration During Brainwashing Center Detention in 2005

(Minghui.org) A former engineer with the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, has been subjected to repeated arrests and detention since the Chinese Communist Party ordered the persecution of her faith, Falun Gong, in July 1999. Once a beautiful woman with delicate skin, Ms. Wang Sanxiu is now significantly aged, emaciated and has dark spots on her face.

Ms. Wang took up Falun Gong in February 1996. After the persecution started, she served three forced labor camp terms, was held in brainwashing centers three times, and had her home ransacked numerous times. While in custody, she was savagely beaten, deprived of sleep, force-fed, and subjected to involuntary drug administration.

A group of officers, including Kuang Yuqing and Huang Shuicheng from the Baixia District Police Department and Jiang Ziyou from the Ruijin Road Police Station, showed up at Ms. Wang’s home on the early evening of March 8, 2005. Ms. Wang was having a high fever and she refused to open the door. After a long standoff, the officers retreated and stayed outside of her home overnight to monitor her. The police also ordered Ms. Wang’s work manager to call her husband and ordered him to make sure she report to work the next day.

Not wanting to cause trouble for her husband or manager, Ms. Wang went to work the next morning. Before she entered the building, she was surrounded by several officers and carried into a police car. She was taken to a brainwashing session located in the Xihuamen Hotel. The windows of the rooms were fitted with metal bars to prevent her and other Falun Gong practitioners detained there from escaping.

Over ten people from the Ruijin Road Residential Committee, Zhongshanmen Residential Committee and Nanjing Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources monitored Ms. Wang around the clock. She held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and the Baixia District 610 Office ordered several strong women to force-feed her. Noticing she vomited after the force-feeding the first day, those women injected her with unknown drugs during force-feeding the day after.

A month later, several officers forcibly collected Ms. Wang’s fingerprints and took her to the Nanjing City Brainwashing Center in the Bole Hotel, near the Nanjing Xiaozhuang University in Yanziji area. The 610 Office agents deprived Ms. Wang of sleep for several days and forced her to stand facing the wall in the corner of a room, where the floor was covered with words smearing Falun Gong written by agent Yuan Zuhui. If she moved a little, the security guard would grab her hair and hit her head against the wall. She almost fainted from the hitting.

Ms. Wang began to experience some symptoms after a few days and the conditions further deteriorated after she was released. Her eyes, mouth, and nose felt very dry. She couldn’t produce tears or saliva. She had to drink some water after waking up, before she could talk. She also had bloodshot eyes. She went to the hospital and was told that she had the “Sjögren’s syndrome,” which didn’t have a cure. She then realized that the conditions might be caused by the toxic shots she was given at the brainwashing center.

Over the years, the condition caused Ms. Wang to age quickly. Her skin was dry and had dark spots.
