Saving Sentient Beings with Great Urgency

(Minghui.org) As Falun Dafa practitioners, our goal in cultivation is not just to achieve consummation (enlightenment), but we also shoulder the responsibility of offering salvation to sentient beings. It’s a tremendous honor to obtain the Fa and be one of Master Li’s disciples.

I’m grateful to Master and strive to live up to Dafa’s standards and do the three things well. Over the past 16 years, I’ve clarified the truth to people of the region, as well as to police officers and officials of the judicial system.

Clarifying the Truth to Police Officers

I was illegally arrested and detained for distributing Dafa truth-clarification materials many years ago. My home was ransacked, and my personal belongings were confiscated. After I was released, I went to the police station to ask for my things back. But what I really wanted was to create an opportunity to explain the facts about Dafa to the police.

The police chief’s office was on the second floor. He was a middle-aged man who politely invited me into his office. I said to him, “Chief, I took up Dafa cultivation because I suffered from many illnesses. I now no longer have to take any medication. Falun Dafa is a righteous cultivation way of the Buddha school. It has spread throughout the world but is only persecuted in China. Do you think that’s normal? The fliers I distributed—you should really read them, because they give you the facts about Dafa and the persecution. What’s written in them is true.”

I continued to explain that the Tiananmen Self-immolation was a hoax and how Falun Dafa is now practiced by people in more than 100 countries. I also asked him to return the personal items taken from my home.

He replied, “I visit the Minghui website pretty regularly and am familiar with the information you shared. However, the Chinese government banned the practice and, as a police chief, I have to comply with the policy.” He then told me to contact Deputy Chief Liu to get my things back. He was polite, and our conversation was amicable.

I went downstairs to Deputy Chief Liu’s office, which he shared with officer Bao. Deputy Chief Liu was in charge of all Falun Dafa cases and personally led the ransacking of my home. I told him about the unlawful nature of my home ransacking.

Liu replied, “I know you’re a good person. But this is what I have to do to make a living. I visit the Minghui website often. I didn’t arrest you—please don’t upload my information onto the Minghui website.” He looked at Bao, and the two of them laughed.

I took me a few visits to Liu’s office to get my things back. And each time Bao saw me, he greeted me with “Falun Dafa is good.” Bao was promoted to Deputy Chief not long after that.

Cai was another officer that participated in my arrest. I told him, “Falun Dafa is a spiritual practice and is guided by the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Practitioners cultivate themselves to become kind and good people. Why don’t you look into it—the practice has spread all over the world. The Tiananmen Self-immolation was a staged hoax meant for slandering Dafa and turning public opinion against it. The directives of the persecution are orally passed down from the higher ups without documentation. When the crimes of this brutal campaign are exposed, who is going to take the blame and be held accountable?”

Cai lowered his voice and said, “Auntie, I have no beef with you personally. Why would I want to arrest you? If you only spoke reasonably that day, I would have let you go on the spot.”

His words made me realize, “True. In the heat of the moment, my ordinary notions took over, and I resented the officers who arrested me. I acted especially hostile toward Cai and didn’t handle the situation with kindness as a cultivator is supposed to. If I clarified the truth to him with compassion and told him that participating in the persecution would bring retribution, Cai might have not committed the crime of arresting me. Wouldn’t that have been nice?”

I learned many things in the process of clarifying the truth to Cai. After our conversation, my prejudice against the police disappeared, as it became clear to me that they are the true victims of the persecution and the most pitiful. I found out later that Cai suffered a serious illness and missed a promotion to become chief.

Reaching Out to the Director of the Justice Bureau

A few years ago, I got ready to leave the house to clarify the truth as usual. When I approached the train station, I saw a big group of people gathered around on the plaza in front of the train station. I made my way through the crowd and found officials from the district Justice Bureau setting up an exhibit. They were giving away free Thermos mugs, which were coveted by all these people. The sign for the exhibit was in a large bold font that drew my attention right away, “Anti-Cult.” As I looked closer, I saw that a lot of the content was slandering Dafa. Wasn’t that deceiving people?

I looked around and saw a familiar figure directing young officers to unload boxes of Thermoses and set them under the information table—it was the bureau director. I’d had an encounter with her a few years back when my cousin was detained for practicing Dafa.

After all the boxes were unloaded, the director sat down at the table. I went up to her and said, “Hi Director, I see you’re having an exhibit here.” She nodded and asked how my cousin was doing. “Oh long story,” I replied. “Because of the arrest, he can’t seem to find a job or even a girlfriend. Director, Falun Dafa is a practice based on the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. It is a supreme cultivation way of the Buddha school. You’re pretty high up in the judicial system and are familiar with the law. You know, as Chinese citizens, our right to freedom of belief is protected by the Constitution. Falun Dafa is not on the list of the 14 cults listed and not officially declared so by the government. Isn’t this exhibit telling lies and deceiving people?” Two young officers standing close by heard and smiled at me.

The director replied, “This is an assignment from my higher-ups, and I have to execute it.” I told her, “As the saying goes, ‘Spreading the Buddha Fa generates endless virtue.’ What you are doing here is the opposite and may bring retribution. Now that you have everything set up, you can call it a day any time you want. It’s such a hot day, I bet it’s nicer sitting in your air-conditioned office.” She replied, “My boss and his boss will come and inspect in a little bit. As soon as they leave, I’m taking it all down.” Her phone rang and, while she took the call, I went elsewhere to clarify the truth.

When I passed by the train station later on, the exhibit and the people were gone, just as if nothing happened.

Traveling through a Different Time-Space

After finishing breakfast in the Fall of 2021, I hopped on my motorbike and rode to a residential community to clarify the truth. On my way there, I caught up to a man on his bicycle going the same way. I asked him, “Is the regional fair today?” He said it was. I struck up a conversation and clarified the truth to him. When I asked him to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stay safe, he readily agreed.

As we rode side by side, he suddenly disappeared. “How strange—where did he go?” Just when I was wondering, I noticed I was already at the residential community I was headed to. My hands were still on the handlebars of my motorbike as it came to a stop. “Wow, I must have traveled in a different time-space to get here so fast!”

As I realized what just happened, tears welled up, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude. I was certain I traveled through a different time-space. I had a similar experience back in the summer of 2019 but couldn’t be sure. But this time, I had no doubt in my mind. Master arranged for me to experience it again as encouragement.

Those Who Safeguard Dafa Are Blessed

It’s been 16 years since I started clarifying the truth in the Fall of 2008. Rain or shine, I go out almost every day. If I skipped a day, I’d feel guilty that I had let Master down.

Many locals have come to know me over the years. Some people who have learned the truth also helped me distribute Dafa materials and protected Dafa practitioners. There is a big regional fair that I’ve been going to regularly to clarify the truth. I met a bus driver there years ago who was very receptive and knows Dafa is good. He gets many truth-clarification calendars from me at the end of each year to give to his co-workers and passengers.

An elderly practitioner was once distributing Dafa materials at the fair when someone grabbed her and said he was going to report her to the police. The elderly practitioner tried to get away but the man wouldn’t let go. As he pushed and shoved the elderly practitioner, many people stopped to watch. The bus driver happened to be there and said to the man, “Brother, it’s fine if you don’t want one of those booklets, but look at this elderly lady—if you get her hurt somehow, are her children going to let you get away with it? Aren’t you asking for trouble?” The man stared at the driver and slowly came to his senses. He let go of the elderly practitioner and left.

There have been many cases over the years where people who’ve learned the truth about Dafa expressed their gratitude and wanted to give me gifts. But there have also been those who wouldn’t listen or refused to accept what I said. They were hostile and some even reported me to the police. But I just brush it off when that happens and don’t let it affect me. And even when I was reported to the police, I was able to get away safely thanks to Master’s protection.

I’m still far behind practitioners who are truly diligent. Regardless how much longer we have left in the Fa-rectification period, I will be more diligent and do the three things well to repay Master for painstakingly saving me and helping me to fulfill my vows.
