(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2002. I was only in my 30s. I had to work and recently had a child, so my schedule was very tight. I listened to the recordings of Master’s Fa lectures at work, and I meditated for half an hour every day. Because the persecution was still very severe at the time, I paid more attention to sending righteous thoughts and seldom did the standing exercises, especially the second exercise. When I later started making truth clarification materials, I became even busier and did the exercises less. This went on for many years.
In 2018, Minghui.org published new exercise music. The second exercise was an hour long. I was in a dilemma. At the beginning, I practiced every day. People said I looked younger, slender, and my cultivation state was much better. However, it didn’t take long for me to seek comfort again and I stopped practicing the second exercise.
One day in July 2024, my husband’s coworker gave him a productivity manual—a paper notebook with a calendar, but the calendar was two years old. I didn’t pay much attention to it at first, but I noticed the first few pages had 30 small rectangles under each month where I could record that I practiced the five exercises every day. Then there was a page for each day and spaces for each hour, where I could record my daily Fa study and sending righteous thoughts.
In August, I began to use the manual to keep track of my cultivation. After I did the exercises, I wrote a number in the corresponding small rectangle, so I could see at a glance which exercises I'd done and which ones I missed. When I saw the missing parts, I felt guilty. I usually send righteous thoughts in the morning to clear away the evil factors that persecute Dafa practitioners in the local areas. In the afternoon, I read three lectures of Zhuan Falun and Fa lectures given in different places. Sometimes I read less because I am busy.
Since I've started using the manual to keep track, I can ensure the number of times I send righteous thoughts and the amount of time I study the Fa daily. After two weeks I quit playing games (the games were on my husband’s phone. Every night when my husband came home for dinner, I played for a while), and I stopped checking Taobao (an online shopping app in China). Instead I used the time to study the Fa. I was no longer afraid when I saw a police car when I went out. I was also able to participate in the morning exercises. Many of the obstacles that seemed insurmountable in the past were easily solved. What surprised me was that I could communicate with my husband and son calmly (they said they found it difficult to communicate with me in the past), and my son also loved to come home.
He listened to the audio Fa lectures with me when he was young, but he was very resistant to cultivation after entering college; I tried to look inward, but I could not change his mind. Now he’s started listening to the Fa again. Classmates I haven’t talked to for more than 20 years contacted me and wanted to see me. I felt that sentient beings I'm supposed to save are coming to me.
I know that some young practitioners do not attach importance to practicing the exercises. We should practice the Dafa that Master gave us, including the miraculous five sets of exercises.
