Additional Persecution News from China – May 18, 2025 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yang Guijuan Sentenced to One Year in Prison
2. [Shanghai] Ms. Chen Huiying Detained
3. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Wang Suxiang Taken a Brainwashing Center
4. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Guo Zixiang and Zhang Yuchun Harassed
5. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Mingxiu Harassed
6. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
7. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Chunrong and Her Husband Arrested

1. [Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yang Guijuan Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Ms. Yang Guijuan was sentenced to one year in prison by the Tongxiang City Court on May 16, 2025. She has been detained for eight months before her conviction. She is now very weak while having a hunger strike at the detention center.

2. [Shanghai] Ms. Chen Huiying Detained

Ms. Chen Huiying from Baoshan District was arrested on May 14, 2025, and has been detained since.

3. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Wang Suxiang Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Suxiang, from Wangyefu Town of Harqin Banner, was harassed over the phone on April 19, 2025 by officer Zhao of the Wangyefu Town Justice Bureau. Town government officials showed up at her home the next day and took her to a brainwashing center.

4. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Guo Zixiang and Zhang Yuchun Harassed

Mr. Guo Zixiang and Zhang Yuchun were harassed by two staff members from the Daxinzhuang 610 Office on April 24, 2025. The officers attempted to take photos of both practitioners. Zhang didn’t cooperate with them.

5. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Mingxiu Harassed

Several officers from the Meishan Police Department went to Ms. Chen Mingxiu’s home in Dongpo District on May 13, 2025. They broke in by prying open the door lock, when Ms. Chen wasn’t home.

Two officers from the Dashiqiao Police Station showed up at Ms. Chen’s workplace the next day and took photos of her.

6. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners were arrested by officers in Tiedong District on April 21 and 22. Four of them have been released, with Ms. Wang Yanqiu, Ms. Liang Shujuan and Ms. Qiao Shuzhen each detained for 5 days and Ms. Zhang Qiaoyun detained for 10 days. Ms. Dou Lina was first given 15 days of detention and then transferred to the Siping City Detention Center.

7. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Chunrong and Her Husband Arrested

Ms. Wang Chunrong and her husband, in his 70s and not a Falun Gong practitioner, were both arrested at home on the afternoon of May 13, 2025, by officers of the Taihe Police Station. Her husband was released hours later and Ms. Wang was released the next day. Their home was also ransacked.
