Additional Persecution News from China – May 19, 2025 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

3. [Chongqing] Ms. Wei Yongfu and Her Sister Ms. Wei Yongyuan Arrested
4. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Yumei Arrested
5. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Bingcheng and Her Mother Ms. Liu Peng Harassed
6. [Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Li Bing Detained
7. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Harassed or Arrested

1. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiuyu Faces Trial

Ms. Wang Xiuyu was arrested by officers from the Nantai Town Police Station on March 6, 2025, and her home was ransacked. Her arrest was approved by the Lishan District Procuratorate in Anshan City on March 18, 2025. The police submitted her case to the procuratorate on April 10, 2025 and she was indicted on May 8, 2025. She is now facing trial by the Lishan District Court.

2. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Juping and Ms. Li Yuanhui Arrested

Ms. Li Juping, from Zhuwangbao Town, Yongchang County, and her aunt, Ms. Li Yuanhui, from Huangyang Town, Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, were arrested by officers from the Zhuwangbao Town Police Station on May 14, 2025, after being reported for putting up posters about Falun Gong.

3. [Chongqing] Ms. Wei Yongfu and Her Sister Ms. Wei Yongyuan Arrested

Ms. Wei Jiufu and her sister Ms. Wei Jiuyuan from Kaizhou District were arrested on May 13, 2025, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Wei Jiuyuan was detained for ten days. It is unknown where Ms. Wei Jiufu was detained.

4. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Yumei Arrested

Ms. Sun Yumei, nearly 70, was arrested at home by officers from Beilin District on May 10, 2025. The police had been monitoring her since March 2025 before arresting her. Her ailing husband, who relied on her for care, is now left at home by himself.

5. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Bingcheng and Her Mother Ms. Liu Peng Harassed

Ms. Wang Bingcheng and her mother, Ms. Liu Peng, were both sentenced to two and a half years in prison on April 13, 2023. They were released from the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center on April 21, 2025. Two officers from the Tangu Police Station harassed them at their shared residence on the morning of May 15, 2025. They demanded to take their photos and threatened to check on them twice a year.

6. [Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Li Bing Detained

Mr. Li Bing, a native of Huangchuan County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, was arrested at his rental apartment in Zixihuayuan Residential Community, Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, on May 2, 2025. The arresting officers from the Xinxing Police Station in Jiaxing claimed that he was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong, and detained him for 12 days.

7. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Lyu Enzhong (or Mr. Lyu Wenzhong) was arrested outside his home on May 11, 2025, by plainclothes officers. His home was ransacked at 11 p.m. that night. His wife, Ms. Tian Hong, was also arrested, when she went downstairs the next day.

Ms. Xu Yuzhen was arrested on May 12, 2025, and her home was ransacked. A third practitioner, whose name wasn’t known, was arrested as well.

8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Harassed or Arrested

Ms. Xue, in her 70s, was harassed at home by two officers from the Zhihe Street Police Station on the morning of May 6, 2025. They searched her home and photographed her Falun Gong books. They attempted to take her to the police station for interrogation, but she refused to cooperate.

Another elderly practitioner, Ms. Shi, also had her home ransacked on the same day. One of her Falun Gong books was confiscated. She was taken to the Zhihe Street Police Station for interrogation and released later that day.

On the same evening at around 10 p.m., another elderly practitioner in her 70s had her home searched.
