Speakers at the rally at Queen’s Park in front of the Ontario Provincial Parliament building spoke about the ongoing persecution in China and the transnational suppression of the practice. A practitioner who was jailed in China for her belief described being tortured while incarcerated.
A couple who signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa in China and said they hope their signatures would help practitioners who are being persecuted.
As part of the the three-day celebration following Independence Day, the parade was the highlight of the festival. The practitioners’ procession was greeted with cheers and applause.
