(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xing Xiuping Detained
Ms. Xing Xiuping was arrested by Liuzhuo Township Station officers on the morning of August 6, 2025. She was taken to a lockup.
2. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Sanni Arrested
Ms. Dong Sanni was arrested by Xujialou Police Station officers when distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on the evening of July 29, 2025. She was taken to a local hospital for a physical exam the next day and given 14 days of detention.
3. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Ding Shumei Develops Uterine Cancer While Serving an Eight-Year Term
Ms. Ding Shumei was arrested in 2017 and later sentenced to eight years in prison. She has developed uterine cancer while serving time in the Anhui Province Women’s Prison.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Hongyan Arrested
Ms. Li Hongyan was arrested on August 7, 2025. Her home was ransacked.
5. [Huimin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liang Jing Detained
Mr. Liang Jing, 67, was arrested on July 16, 2025, after being reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. He is being held in the Huimin County Detention Center.
Mr. Liang was previously sentenced to eight years (May 2003-May 2010). After he was released, he was forced to live away from home for years to avoid the persecution.
6. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested
More than ten practitioners were arrested in mid-May 2025 after they were discovered contacting a practitioner under close police surveillance. The police installed a camera outside that practitioner’s home in late 2024 to monitor him or her.
One of the arrested practitioners, Mr. Yan Jinlong, in his 80s, was handcuffed during his arrest. His personal belongings, including a laptop and a printer, were confiscated. He has been sentenced to one year and is allowed to serve time at home.
Mr. Wei Yanjie’s home was ransacked, and he was detained for 12 days.
7. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wu Xiaoxia Detained
Ms. Wu Xiaoxia was arrested outside of her home on July 19, 2025. Her home was ransacked and a Falun Gong book was confiscated. She was held in the Zhenjiang City Lockup and released on July 31, 2025.
8. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cui Xuelei Detained
Ms. Cui Xuelei was arrested by officers from the Liming Police Station on the afternoon of July 21, 2025, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police confiscated over 100 Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, Minghui Weekly magazines, a computer, and a printer from her home.
Ms. Cui was given 15 days in the Yichun City Lockup. The community staff members ordered her to write statements to renounce Falun Gong, but she refused to comply. She was released on August 5, 2025.
9. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Mingjie Detained
Mr. Zhao Mingjie was arrested by Liaohe Police Station officers in the Shuangtaizi District for putting up informational materials about Falun Gong on July 22, 2025. He was held in a lockup and released on August 5, 2025.
10. [Chongqing] Mr. Fei Mingyan Harassed
Mr. Fei Mingyan was harassed at home by officers from the Wulidian Police Station on August 6, 2025. The police photographed him against his will.
11. [Fuping County, Hebei Province] Ms. Duan Jianhua Arrested and Extorted
Ms. Duan Jianhua was followed by Zhang Shijie and other officers with the Puping County Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 16, 2025, when she went to her parent’s home. The police searched her bag and confiscated 500 yuan in paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them, flash drives, and informational materials. When the police pressed her to tell them where she got the materials, she refused to say. She was released later that day.
Ms. Duan was arrested again while she was talking to another practitioner on July 18, 2025. The police searched her bag again and took 100 yuan in cash. They took both practitioners to the Domestic Security Division and interrogated them in separate rooms.
The police released the other practitioner and pressured Ms. Duan to sign a prepared statement to renounce Falun Gong. Because Ms. Duan refused to pay the 10,000-yuan fine, the police took her to a friend’s and extorted 2,000 yuan from her friend before releasing her.
