(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Dongguang County, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Facing Second Hearing
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Shujie Detained
3. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yan Laiping Detained
4. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Practitioners Li Jianhui and Yi Dijun Detained
5. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Sanni Detained
6. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yingru Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
7. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cheng Xuli Detained
8. [Linyi County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Qingquan and His Wife Ms. Ning Chunhua Persecuted
9. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiang Yan Missing
1. [Dongguang County, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Facing Second Hearing
Ms. Cheng Guijun, Ms. Song Guifen, Ms. Zhang Wenping, Ms. Li Zhenying, Mr. Men Bingcheng, and Mr. Yu Yongli were arrested on June 19, 2024. They have been held at the Dezhou City Detention Center. They were tried by the Ningjin County Court on April 18, 2025. A second hearing was scheduled for August 12, 2025.
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Shujie Detained
Ms. Liu Shujie was arrested by officers from the Zhongshan District Criminal Investigation Division on August 6, 2025. She is now held in the Yaojia Detention Center.
3. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yan Laiping Detained
Ms. Yan Laiping was arrested at work by officers from the Xiantao City Domestic Security Division at noon on August 4, 2025. Her home was later ransacked. She is currently held in a lockup.
4. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Practitioners Li Jianhui and Yi Dijun Detained
Li Jianhui and Yi Dijun were recently arrested by a dozen officers led by Chen Lei, chief of the Jinshan Police Station. The two practitioners are held in the Zhuzhou City Detention Center. The police also ransacked the homes of ten other practitioners.
5. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Sanni Detained
Ms. Dong Sanni was arrested by officers from the Sanli Police Station on the evening of July 29, 2025. She was placed under 14-day detention and has been held in the Tai’an City Lockup.
6. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yingru Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Wang Yongru was sentenced to three years in prison. Her appeal has been rejected.
7. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cheng Xuli Detained
Ms. Cheng Xuli was arrested by Anlu City Domestic Security Division officers at 12:30 a.m. on July 28, 2025 at the Anlu City Train Station, when she was returning from a trip to Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. She was held in a lockup and released on August 7, 2025.
8. [Linyi County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Qingquan and His Wife Ms. Ning Chunhua Persecuted
Mr. Liu Qingquan was arrested at home by officers from Linyi County Domestic Security Division on July 19, 2022. The police confiscated his computer, printer, and Falun Gong books. He was sentenced to two and a half years and fined 5,000 yuan by the Linyi County Court at the end of 2022.
His wife, Ms. Ning Chunhua, was arrested together with him. She was released on a one-year bail and later given ten days of administration detention.
9. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiang Yan Missing
Ms. Xiang Yan has gone missing for over a month.
