(Minghui.org) To tell people about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China and to introduce the exercises, practitioners held an event in Amsterdam on July 25 and another one in Utrecht on July 27, 2025.

Passersby of all different backgrounds expressed interest and their support for Falun Dafa’s guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. After learning about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, people condemned it and signed the petition to the G7+7 countries, calling for an end to the CCP’s forced organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners and those of other religious groups in China.

Raising Awareness in Amsterdam

The activity in Amsterdam was held on Dam Square in the city center, where many people shop and sightsee. Practitioners demonstrated the exercises and put up display boards to help explain Falun Dafa and the persecution in China. They spoke with many residents and tourists.

Coach: We Have the Obligation to Tell China to Stop This Injustice

Lola Nouwens is a famous coach, speaker, and writer in the Netherlands. She is a mindset coach and creative entrepreneur. In 2020, she won the RTL4 TV station program LEGO MASTERS. Her friend Ms. Loes is a legal attorney for the Dutch government. They both signed the petition after learning about the persecution.

“I noticed the words Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. This is exactly what we are missing in our current society,” said Ms. Nouwens. “Then I heard about the persecution. We are against this. Signing the petition is the least we can do. I’m happy that I got to learn more about it today and received more information. This way we can talk about it with other people and make more people aware, to let them know that this is happening in the world. We have an obligation to tell our neighbors in China to stand up against this injustice.”

She also said that she was drawn to the practitioners’ display by their peaceful meditation, which she found beautiful.

“When I saw the three people [practitioners] sitting here [meditating], I thought, ‘How beautiful! What are they doing?’ Then I learned that doing this is forbidden [in China] and that you can get killed for this. This is, of course, insane and is not right. This makes it more disturbing to learn that these people who are living peaceful and loving lives are punished for doing this. This is not right!” she said.

Ms. Loes said, “I’m very surprised that these lovely ladies [practitioners] who don’t do any harm can be convicted of a crime. That is bizarre.”

When asked what she thought of Falun Gong’s values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, Ms. Loes said, “I support and fully agree with them. They are applicable everywhere in the world. If we can put these values into practice, we would have a better world. Let’s try to do this!” She said she would read the flyer when she got home.

Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance Are Humanity’s Values

One of the passersby who signed the petition was Beth Stephens from London. She is studying politics at the University of Warwick. She said she was motivated to sign after a practitioner told her how she was persecuted in China. “She told a very powerful story. It sounded horrific.”

When asked what she thought of the practitioners who did the exercises and the values of Falun Dafa, she said, “They just seem so peaceful! I’m a Christian, so I feel those are my values, too. They are just human nature values, just who we are, just the values of humanity.”

She said she would definitely share what she learned with her friends. “More people need to help. I will get on the website.”

Lesley gave Falun Dafa a thumbs up.

Lesley, a retired locksmith in Holland, came over to learn more about the persecution. He condemned it and said that he thought practitioners should have the right to choose what they believe in. “I like to be free, and I would like everyone else to be free, free to think, free to do what you like to do, free to choose your own way of life.”

He also said he thought the practitioners’ meditation was a great way to find inner peace and freedom. “This is the beginning—when you look for freedom! China has a long way to go. It is so big,” he said. He signed the petition.

Three young men from Italy sign the petition.

Leonardo Giobbi, Gianandrea Mazzi, and Lorenzo Tosonotti from Italy signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. Leonardo said, “We saw you and felt like helping out.” His friend Lorenzo said, “Reading this just motivates you to sign the petition, because there’s a big problem going on in China. It is important to help whenever you can. We saw the information and decided to sign.”

Utrecht

There is a lot of foot traffic on the square between the central train station and shopping malls in Utrecht, where practitioners held their event. Many people who saw them doing the exercises learned about the CCP’s persecution in China, including the forced organ harvesting.

Brothers from China Learn About the Persecution

Two brothers from China who stopped by the booth said they were interested in learning about Falun Dafa and the persecution. The older one took a truth clarification booklet, while the younger brother, Saiben, said that he knew a few practitioners when he lived in China. He said the CCP forced their families to pressure them to give up their practice. He said the CCP denies the Chinese people the right to choose their own belief.

Saiben said, “The CCP is very evil. In China you cannot practice this [Falun Dafa]. I am interested in learning how to do it. This is good, not only for your physical health, it’s the best for your mental health. I want to learn it!”

Practitioners gave Saiben informational materials, which he said he would read. He also said he wants to start practicing Falun Dafa. Saiben had his photo taken with a practitioner in front of the booth to show his support for practitioners’ efforts.

Gestures of Solidarity from Dutch Residents

After a Falun Dafa practitioner explained the truth about the persecution to him, Mateusz Kut expressed his sympathy for practitioners standing up for their faith. He said, “I know. I believe in God. What can I do to help?!” He then signed the petition.

A Dutch woman left three roses to express her appreciation.

When a Dutch woman signed the petition, she was handed an origami lotus flower with “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance” written on it. She left and returned with three red roses that she gave the practitioners to show her gratitude and solidarity.
