(Minghui.org) The Dongning City Domestic Security Office in Heilongjiang Province submitted cases against five Falun Gong practitioners to the Hailing City Procuratorate on August 19, 2025, seeking their indictment for their faith.
Four of the practitioners are Dongning residents, including Mr. Shen Jinxiang, Mr. Yang Kui, Ms. Jia Yanfeng, and Ms. Su Hong. The fifth, Ms. Su Ying, is a resident of Shandong Province. She was in Heilongjiang to visit her sister Ms. Su Hong.
The five were arrested at around 4 p.m. on July 18, 2025. The Dongning City Domestic Security Office led the police sweep, assisted by the Dongning City First Police Station and the Dongning City Second Police Station.
During the arrests, the police seized 19,000 yuan in pension money that Ms. Su Ying carried with her while visiting her sister. Her relatives later noted that the money was missing and went to the Domestic Security Office to inquire about it. Captain Wei Xin claimed that they were keeping the funds for safekeeping purposes and that they would return it once the case was closed.
Wei snatched Ms. Jia’s key after arresting her. He and two officers entered Ms. Jia’s home on July 25, 2025 when no one was home. While they were raiding the home, Ms. Jia’s daughter happened to return from out of town. She saw the trio in plainclothes, who only produced a blank search warrant when she demanded to see one. They later froze Ms. Jia’s bank account.
Mr. Yang had 38,000 yuan seized from his home during the arrest, but the police returned it the next day upon his family’s strong demand. His change jar (used for his vegetable vendor business), however, was still kept by the police, who claimed they needed it for their “case investigation.”
Four other Dongning residents were arrested that same day, including Ms. Wang Xiuzhi, Ms. Sun Weili, Ms. Lang Cuixiang, and Ms. Peng Shoufeng. They were also taken to the Mudanjiang City Detention Center and released after an unknown amount of time. Ms. Peng was injured in a fall while in detention and could not take care of herself.
