(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Minnesota joined Open Streets Hennepin 2026 in Minneapolis on October 11, 2026. They introduced the practice's benefits to event visitors and raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s persecution of the practice.
The event took place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. along Hennepin Avenue and spanned eight city blocks in Uptown Minneapolis. During the event, the avenue was closed to traffic, and more than 200 exhibitor booths lined both sides of the street.
As it is the final “open streets” event of the year in Minnesota, the annual Open Streets Hennepin attracts tens of thousands of visitors. Temperatures at the event this year soared above 86 degrees Fahrenheit, giving visitors a rare stretch of beautiful weather before the onset of winter.

This was the Minnesota Falun Dafa Association's first time participating in the event, and their booth attracted many visitors who stopped to learn about the practice.
Practitioners demonstrated the exercises at the booth and explained the practice to the passing visitors. During the six-hour event, practitioners distributed nearly 1,000 flyers about the “Unbroken” documentary and materials related to the CCP’s transnational repression.
The booth displayed exquisite little lotus flower keepsakes, which attracted many children who wanted one as a souvenir. Practitioners introduced the practice to the parents while the children chose a lotus flower that they liked.
Visitors were full of praise for the lotus flower keepsakes. When they learned that the keepsakes were being given out for free, they were surprised and wanted to find out more about the practice and Shen Yun Performing Arts. Many people accepted materials and told the practitioners that they wanted to take a good look to learn more about Falun Dafa.
A gentleman came up to the booth to ask about the current situation of Falun Dafa and Shen Yun Performing Arts. He also asked if the practitioner had come from China. It turned out that he has many friends in China and often contacts them through the Internet. Before leaving, he took a photo with the practitioner, using the Minnesota Falun Dafa Association’s booth as the background and displaying the flyer that he got from the practitioner. The practitioner hoped that he would share this encounter and related information about Falun Dafa with his friends in China, so that he could help them to understand what Falun Dafa is about.
Another gentleman walked up to the booth when he saw it and said that he came from Taiwan and had interacted with many practitioners. He has also watched a Shen Yun performance.
Another visitor told a practitioner that he had heard about Shen Yun Performing Arts. Although he has yet to watch the performance, he is very happy that there is the “Unbroken” documentary to help him learn more about Falun Dafa and Shen Yun.
