(Minghui.org) Philadelphia City Councilor Katherine Gilmore Richardson hosted the Women’s Health & Wellness Fair in a church in northeast Philadelphia on October 17, 2026. More than 30 health and wellness service organizations participated, offering free screenings and health information to residents and bringing the concept of health and wellness into the community.

Many people went to the Falun Gong booth to learn about the practice. Some tried the exercises on the spot. Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional spiritual practice that includes five exercises. Its principles are Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Janelle Davis, a nurse, learned the exercises after she watched practitioners demonstrate them. Afterward, she said she felt refreshed.

Janelle said, “After learning the exercises, I feel very relaxed, and my stress disappeared.” She said she would go to the Philadelphia group practice site to learn Falun Gong.
Pennsylvania Senator Signs Petition Condemning Forced Organ Harvesting

Pennsylvania State Senator Sharif Street went to the fair and visited the Falun Gong booth. He said he tried Falun Gong before: “I felt very relaxed. I think the world nowadays needs more peace. Anything that lets us be more peaceful and relaxed is good.”
Mr. Street spoke against the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. He signed the petition for Senate Bill S.4009, the Falun Gong and Victims of Forced Organ Harvesting Protection Act.
He added, “I oppose forced organ harvesting in China or any place across the world. No one should be subjected to forced organ harvesting. We should investigate the issue completely to ensure it is stopped anywhere, including China.”

Frankie Darcell, a radio host, breast cancer survivor, and prevention advocate, said that she watched Shen Yun, found it very exciting, and looked forward to watching it again next year. She said she knew of the CCP’s forced organ harvesting and signed the petition to support Senate Bill S.4009.
