(Minghui.org) For more than 20 years, Falun Dafa practitioners have held informational events every week in various cities in Romania. Over time, their efforts—along with those of practitioners around the world—have paid off: more and more people know about Falun Dafa and the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution in China.
At an informational event in Brasov on May 23, many people signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution. They also encouraged practitioners to keep raising awareness of the atrocities taking place in China.
Musician: Practitioners Are Standing Up for Something “Worth Fighting For”
Andrei, a musician, stopped by the practitioners’ booth because he’d seen a documentary about the persecution of Falun Dafa many years ago. “I’ve known about it for years,” he said. “I’ve seen [your efforts] around the world, and I’ve also seen booths like this and I always sign the petitions.”
He said people should discuss the persecution, and signing a petition is an easy way for people to show their support. “They don’t ask for anything but your signature. I think a signature is the least we can do. This cause is very important,” said Andrei.
He also praised the principles of Falun Dafa that practitioners use to guide their lives: Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
“Considering that we are in Romania, I believe these values are compatible with the Christianity that is predominant here, and I believe that ultimately, they coincide with what everyone needs—meaning that every good person, every ordinary person is good at heart, in themselves, and it is obvious that everyone wants [these principles], right?” he added.
He commended the practitioners’ steady efforts and encouraged them to keep going, “All the movements in history, all the movements where people were persecuted, it turned out that they were persecuted because they were right. They were telling the truth. So if it wasn’t something important and no one opposed it, they would leave it, ... they would simply be ignored.
“But the fact that [practitioners] are targeted, it means that there is something there that is worth fighting for,” he said.
Falun Dafa Helps People Flourish
Mihai Miron, who works in IT, was happy to meet practitioners after learning about their plight. He said that he had seen a Shen Yun performance in 2019 when he lived in England.

“I attended that Shen Yun show and I was deeply impressed. I really enjoyed it. I didn’t expect to like it so much and it was really a great opportunity to learn more about the Chinese people and their spiritual traditions—especially Falun Dafa,” said Mihai. “I’m really glad you’re here, so Romanians can learn about [Falun Dafa].”
After seeing Shen Yun, Miron had done his own research into the persecution of Falun Dafa. He said he was “horrified” by the sheer scale of the CCP’s abuse against its own citizens.
“I prayed for practitioners and for the Chinese people and for those who represent them outside the borders of China, that they can find understanding and compassion, empathy from the Chinese authorities, so that they can enjoy freedom of conscience, of belief,” Mihai said.
He said Shen Yun came at a fortuitous time when he was on a “spiritual quest” to find answers to his own questions about life. The show opened his mind to new spiritual perspectives. “I was able to admire and observe the tradition of the Chinese people which is over 2,000 years long and which did not start in 1949 or with Mao’s Long March. They have a tradition and I really liked that they covered this part in the show and that there were elements of tradition,” Mihai shared.
He is convinced that Chinese people would have much to gain if Falun Dafa were allowed to be freely practiced in their society once again: “In the spiritual realm, the Falun Gong movement is also aimed at helping people flourish. Just as they say that a small log overturns a big cart, I am convinced that God and the Creator accepts [the Chinese practitioners’] efforts and suffering and everything they do there, and they will win. Do not be defeated; we will overcome.”
Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance Are “Divine Values”
Corina Chirilă learned about Falun Dafa during the COVID pandemic and was appalled by the brutality of the CCP’s methods used to persecute practitioners. “I’ve seen some shocking videos about the forced organ harvesting of members of this community,” she said. “Communism brings pretty bad things, which it also brought us Romanians.”

She also views Falun Dafa’s three principles as a beacon of hope in a society that she said is increasingly chaotic. “The way society is going, humanity is capable of crucifying Christ a second time, because of the evil in the world—as long as good does nothing, this evil continues to multiply,” said Chirilă. “As long as [these principles] can be practiced, these can only be divine values. It depends a lot on each individual person, on each person’s heart to follow this path.
“These events are a way for Falun Dafa followers to unite people’s hearts for peace and compassion and tolerance,” she added.
Corina also had a message for the practitioners in China: “Let them have dignity, unite, and be very determined to change something in their country.”
Children Learn the Falun Dafa Exercises
Radu, who practices Falun Dafa, said that children often come to the park where he practices the exercises, accompanied by their parents. Some of them have joined him and learned the exercises.

“Today, in the park, an 8-year-old girl sat in the lotus position next to me and practiced the fifth exercise. Her name is Alexandra, and it’s the second time she’s come to practice the exercises. The last time, she practiced the first four exercises with four other children,” Radu said.
