(Minghui.org) The 20th Asian Games opened in Nagoya, Japan, on September 19, 2026, and the aircraft airshow that morning drew large crowds to Hisaya-Odori Park in the center of the city.

Falun Gong practitioners displayed banners in Sakae, one of the city’s busiest districts. In Chinese, English, and Japanese, their banners read “Falun Dafa Is Good,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” “Falun Dafa Is Practiced All Over the World,” and “SOS—Stop Persecuting Falun Gong.” They told people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes practitioners in China and asked them to sign a petition calling to end the human rights abuses.
Visitors from China were among the tourists who passed by the practitioners’ booth on their way to the opening ceremony of the Games. Many people signed the petition, and some of them said they were interested in learning the practice.
Tourist From China: I Strongly Support Falun Gong
A 19-year-old man from China said, “Controls in China are becoming increasingly strict, making it harder and harder to travel to free countries like Japan.” He said he accessed information by using software to get around the CCP’s information censorship in China, and he knew about the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
He chatted with a practitioner for a long time and said, “I strongly support Falun Gong, and I hope that China will soon move toward democracy, where everyone enjoys freedom of speech and freedom of belief.”

A 30-year-old Chinese man who lives in Japan came to the booth and chatted with a Chinese-speaking practitioner. He recounted some of his observations from back in China, saying that the economy and human rights in China were steadily deteriorating. “It would be better if the Chinese government did nothing.” He said, “When it takes action, the people’s lives become even more miserable.
“Although I don’t know much about Falun Gong, I don’t believe practitioners would set themselves on fire on Tiananmen Square.”
The practitioner told the man that Falun Dafa teaches people to live by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and that both killing and suicide are forbidden. The practitioner showed the man how to access the documentary False Fire, noting that it analyzes the suspicious aspects of the staged Tiananmen self-immolation. “So that’s what happened!” the man responded.
People Learn the Facts and Encourage Practitioners
After hearing that the CCP carries out state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, two brothers from Brazil who live in Japan said that they wanted to sign the petition to support ending the persecution. Mr. Nakajima, one of them, said, “There are still a few communist totalitarian states like China in the world today, such as North Korea and Cuba. Communist governments are detrimental to human society.”

A Japanese man asked, “What is Falun Gong? Is it a form of physical exercise like yoga?” After the practitioner gave him a brief introduction, the man was very interested and asked when he could start to learn it. He took down the practitioner’s contact information, saying he would be in touch.
