(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held activities at Mynttorget beside the Parliament Building in central Stockholm and in front of the Nobel Museum from Friday through Sunday each week in August 2026. They introduced the spiritual practice and raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. After they learned about the persecution, many people signed the petition calling for an end to the human rights abuses.

Since the onset of summer this year, heatwaves have affected parts of Europe, prompting many tourists to go to Sweden, where the climate is relatively cool. Stockholm sees a steady stream of visitors every August.

Because practitioners held activities at Mynttorget for years, the local police, residents, and security personnel know about the persecution and support their efforts.

Practitioners’ banners, display boards, and music drew people's attention, and they learned about the practice and the persecution in China. Some accepted flyers; others viewed the display boards; and some talked with practitioners. After they heard about the CCP’s persecution, many people signed the petition.

When three women from Spain talked with a practitioner, they immediately signed the petition.

They were interested in the exercises and asked to be shown them. Afterward, they said they would learn how to practice. When they heard that Falun Gong is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and that the practice is easy to learn and suitable for all people, they said they would buy a book to learn more.

A young girl from Italy was touring Sweden with her parents. When she saw the exercise demonstration, she imitated the hand gestures. A practitioner gave her a mat, and she happily sat down and learned the exercise movements.

She meditated for a long time, then thanked the practitioner and told her mom that she felt great and comfortable.

Her parents took photos while their daughter meditated. They also talked with a practitioner, learned about the persecution and signed the petition.

People Sign the Petition

A wife and her husband passed by the event venue on August 28, they stopped at the table and signed the petition.

A practitioner asked them if they knew about the CCP’s persecution. The wife said while pointing to a teenage girl in front of the display board, “We know it well. She told us. Today we specifically come here to sign the petition.”

It turned out that the teenage girl was their daughter, who learned about Falun Gong the previous week and told her parents about the persecution.

After they heard of the CCP’s persecution and the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, two young people talked with a practitioner and asked what Falun Gong is and why the CCP wants to persecute such a peaceful group.

They were appalled when a practitioner told them about the human rights abuses that practitioners are subjected to. One of them said, “We know the CCP is bad, but we haven’t signed the petition. Now we understand that the CCP tramples basic human rights.” They signed the petition.
