One speaker pointed out, “This is not just a China issue, it is not just about Falun Gong practitioners suffering, it is also about the Chinese Communist Party’s interference in Australia, its lies and deceit, and that is something that concerns all of us.”
“You have been raising awareness for 26 years. This persistence is so important. In the face of evil, we cannot retreat or give up. Change may only start with one person. You must not stop."
Michael Gahler, Member of European Parliament, and China expert Wu Manyang were present to express their support. Some practitioners described their experiences of being persecuted by the CCP in China.
As the CCP escalates its repression of Falun Gong by weaponizing the media and the American legal system, the march in Chinatown called on people to help end the persecution and support the 449 million Chinese people who have withdrawn from the communist organizations.
The president of the Falun Dafa Association of France recounted Falun Dafa’s introduction, its benefits, and how the CCP launched the persecution in 1999 aiming to wipe out Falun Gong within three months. He quoted the verified 5,238 deaths, and said the actual number was likely much higher.
On July 20, the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, made up of members from 36 countries, issued a statement that included a call to hold the Chinese authorities accountable for their human rights violations.
