(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

2. [Liuyang City, Hunan Province] Court Withdraws 10,000 Yuan from Ms. Hu Zhihua’s Bank Account Without Her Knowledge

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sun Wenzhong Released from Hulan Prison

11. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Jinghua Arrested
1. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Gu Xuemin Detained
Ms. Gu Xuemin, 83, was sentenced to three years and fined 10,000 yuan by the Huaiyang District Court in 2024. Her appeal was denied by the Zhoukou City Intermediate Court. While the court didn’t order her to immediately start serving time due to her age, the police harassed her frequently. Her pension was suspended in June 2025. She was taken into the Zhoukou City Detention Center on the morning of July 4, 2025, by Huaiyang Police Station officers and court personnel.
2. [Liuyang City, Hunan Province] Court Withdraws 10,000 Yuan from Ms. Hu Zhihua’s Bank Account Without Her Knowledge
Ms. Hu Zhihua, 75, made a one-year saving deposit of 50,000 yuan on July 28, 2024. When she went to the bank to withdraw the money after the deposit had matured, she was shocked to be told that the local court had withdrawn 10,000 yuan from her account on September 3, 2024, and the remaining 40,000 yuan was frozen until September 3, 2025. She called the court and was told that the 10,000-yuan withdrawal was to pay for her court fine after a hearing on June 12, 2023. But the court never communicated with her about either the fine or the withdrawal.
3. [Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Suqing Arrested
Ms. Wang Suqing, 89, was arrested on her way home from grocery shopping on the morning of July 31, 2025. Five officers carried her into a police car and drove her to Nanqiao Police Station. They later ransacked her home, seized a computer, three disc burners, six printers, around 10,000 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them, and over 50 Falun Gong books.
4. [Dachang County, Hubei Province] At Least 18 Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Li Shuping was harassed at home by Fu Haiyue and two other officers with the Chenfu Police Station in early June 2025. They ordered her to sign a statement not to appeal for Falun Gong and took photos and videos of her.
At least 13 other practitioners were harassed at home over the next few days. They were: Ms. Liu Jirong, Ms. Yang Xiaohong, Mr. Yang Xinjie and his wife Ms. Wang Liqin, Mr. Yang’s mother (in her late 70s), Mr. Yu Jinying, Gao Tianyun (gender unknown), Ms. Zhang Shuying, Ms. Jia Cuirong, Ms. Sui Jingrong and her husband Mr. Gao Tiansong, Ms. Gao Shuling, and Ms. Zhou Yufen.
Ms. Liu Yongling and Ms. Song Shufen were harassed at home by two officers from Shaofu Town Police Station in late June 2025. The officers took photos and videos of them.
Mr. Zhang Tianhai and his wife Ms. Sun Shuzhen were harassed at home by two officers from Dachang Town Police Station in late June 2025. The officers took photos and videos of them.
5. [Chongqing] Ms. Tang Benlan Harassed
Ms. Tang Benlan, 61, of the Jiangjin District was harassed for eight days from July 22 to July 30, 2025. The harassers tried to force her to sign documents to renounce Falun Gong. She refused even though they threatened to evict her from her apartment.
6. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zou Shuqin Detained
Ms. Zou Shuqing was arrested at her barbershop by six plainclothes officers on July 17, 2025. They seized her Falun Gong books and informational materials. They then ransacked her home and confiscated more Falun Gong books as well as her computers, printers, and other items. She was held in the Yantai Detention Center under criminal detention and released on August 1, 2025.
7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sun Wenzhong Released from Hulan Prison
Mr. Sun Wenzhong was released from Hulan Prison in July 2025 after serving 3.5 years.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Chunhua Arrested
Ms. Wang Chunhua was arrested at home by three Caiyun Police Station officers on the morning of July 31, 2025. They ransacked her place, seized two Falun Gong desktop calendars, two pendants, and other items. She was taken to the police station for interrogation. She did not answer any questions or sign any documents. She was released later that day.
9. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhai Shanyong Released
Mr. Zhai Shanyong from the Zhangqiu District has been released. He was arrested on July 30, 2025.
10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wen Qingfang Released After Serving Three Years
Ms. Wen Qingfang was sentenced to three years in prison by the Qian’an Court. Her appeal was rejected by the Tangshan City Intermediate Court. She was admitted to Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison on December 19, 2023. She was abused in prison and lost the ability to walk. She was released on July 31, 2025.
11. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Jinghua Arrested
Ms. Zhou Jinghua was arrested at home by three Huaidi Police Station officers on July 31, 2025. They took pictures of her, seized a copy of a Falun Gong lecture, and took her to the police station for interrogation. She refused to sign the police record and was released around 8 p.m.
