The Blessings of Dafa in a Major Mining Area

(Minghui.org) In the western part of Northeast China, there is a large nonferrous metal mine, one of the largest in the region. It was established nearly 70 years ago. The mining area is located in a small town near a national highway, making transportation convenient. The main road leading to the mining area stretches for roughly 5 kilometers (about 3 miles). The surrounding mountainous area is really beautiful.

The Japanese discovered a mineral vein here before 1949, when they occupied Northeast China. It was said that the map of the vein was shaped like a cow. The mine today is located at what would be the cow’s head on that map. After World War II ended, this large mineral deposit was discovered among the maps left behind by the Japanese. To this day, no one knows where the cow’s body on the map is located. Of course, all of this is according to what the local elders have passed down.

The mine was officially established here in 1958. At that time, many young people were recruited from throughout the country. They came with different aspirations, some bringing their families with them, and devoted themselves to building the mine. Many worked here for their entire lifetime.

Deep underground, the mine has rich mineral deposits. After decades of mining, the underground mineral resources remain abundant, and the ore contains a variety of metals with relatively high grades. The population of the mining area gradually increased as well. During the population census in the 1980s, the population reached more than 30,000 at its peak, while the number of employees grew to more than 10,000.

Falun Dafa Spreads Widely Throughout the Mining Area

Falun Dafa spread widely in the mining area in 1996. People began telling one another how miraculous it was. There were new practitioners nearly every day, and in a short time, those who practiced experienced tremendous changes in both body and mind.

After practicing Dafa, some people who had been sick for many years recovered from illnesses; relationships between family members that had been burdened by years of resentment improved, and families that had been on the verge of breaking apart became harmonious again. Workers no longer sought to take advantage of their positions or take things for themselves, and they performed their jobs well and worked diligently without complaint. People in the mining area could not help but praise Dafa. One person said, “Falun Dafa is truly amazing. It can change people’s hearts.” Dafa quickly spread throughout the mining area and the surrounding towns.

The following are several examples of people from the mine who benefited physically and mentally after learning Dafa.

There was a person who practiced another qigong and had become somewhat well-known locally. He often used qigong to treat other people’s illnesses, but in the end he himself developed several illnesses. A large tumor grew on his neck, and it could not be treated, putting his life in danger. After someone introduced Dafa to him, he suddenly understood. He put aside the other qigong and devoted himself to practicing Falun Dafa. Before long, the tumor on his neck visibly shrank day by day until it disappeared. His wife and daughter were amazed by this miracle and also began practicing.

A young female shop owner had developed a fibroid in her uterus and was preparing for surgery. At just that time, she started practicing Dafa. She and her husband also introduced Dafa to many people. Without her realizing it, the tumor in her abdomen disappeared. Seeing the miracle, many of her relatives began practicing Dafa.

A woman nearing 60 years old suffered from many illnesses. She always wore a thick cotton hat, even in the summertime. After learning Dafa, the chronic illnesses that had troubled her for decades all disappeared without her taking any medication, and she was finally able to take off her cotton hat. From then on, her face was radiant and she walked briskly. She was a completely different person. Some seniors who saw her miraculous changes were eager to start practicing Dafa.

A young man with many bad habits would submit to no one, and no one dared to provoke him. One day, he went to a pharmacy to buy medicine, and someone introduced Falun Dafa to him. He was immediately drawn to it. After he finished reading Zhuan Falun, his worldview underwent a tremendous change. He realized that he should no longer go on living as he had. He stopped all of his bad habits and never again harmed others. From then on, he became humble and peaceful and developed a high moral character. One person who knew him said, “Dafa can bring a terrible person back to the right path. This shows how good this practice really is.”

After witnessing these vivid examples with their own eyes, the number of practitioners in the area of the mine quickly grew to almost 400. People spoke highly of the miraculous effects of Falun Dafa. At meetings in various workplaces, leaders often praised Dafa practitioners for their outstanding work performance and high moral character. Early in the morning, practitioners could be seen doing the exercises together in many places, including the mining area’s sports field and school playgrounds. After learning Dafa, they all strictly conducted themselves according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

In real life, whether one is a high-ranking official or a billionaire, no one can escape the suffering caused by illness, nor can money buy a miraculous medicine that cures disease. In today’s society, nothing else could change the hearts of people. It is Falun Dafa that nourishes people’s hearts, enabling them to become physically healthy at no cost and return to traditional values.

Leaders Followed the Persecution Orders, the Mine Fell Into a Downturn

When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution against Dafa in 1999, the environment changed drastically. Under pressure from higher-ups, leaders of various departments at the mine followed orders and joined in suppressing Dafa practitioners in the area. Those who persisted in practicing and went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa were persecuted through fines, dismissal from their jobs, being placed under probation at the mine, being sent to brainwashing classes, detention centers, or forced labor camps. Everyone was subjected to screening and pressured to write the so-called guarantee statements. They also implemented a policy of implicating others and threatened workplace leaders and practitioners’ relatives with their jobs. Every day, loudspeakers throughout the mining area broadcast the names of Dafa practitioners who had been punished. It was a violent campaign against practitioners as if the Cultural Revolution had returned.

Chinese people had all suffered psychological trauma through previous political campaigns by the CCP, and they were frightened. Some lost their sense of justice, some acted to protect themselves, and some sympathized with practitioners but went along with directions from the top. Moreover, many people believed the CCP media’s propaganda attacking Dafa. Friends and relatives distanced themselves from practitioners, while leaders discriminated against practitioners. Practitioners lost their jobs and were fined. They were left with virtually nothing and found it extremely difficult to get by.

I was forced to spend a long period of time in brainwashing sessions organized by my workplace. One day, a workplace leader urged me to “stop practicing it. Just write a guarantee statement and come back to work.”

I looked at him and replied, firmly, “The propaganda is all fake. I’ll remain a practitioner for life.” That leader turned around and walked away.

At that time, all the various work units, the security office, and the local communities were drawn into the persecution of Dafa. Even some people who knew that Dafa had been wronged did not dare to speak out. It was as if dark clouds hung over the mining area.

The mine’s economy subsequently declined rapidly. The extracted ore could not be sold or had to be sold at low prices, while the enterprise accumulated huge debts and was on the verge of being unable to continue operating. Workers went months without receiving their wages and had to work on rotating shifts. On average, only 70 percent of their wages were being paid. The wages were insufficient for some people to support their families, so they took unpaid leave and went elsewhere to find work. Many families fell into financial hardship.

People Received Blessings for Supporting Dafa

While enduring this harsh atmosphere and hardships, Dafa practitioners remained steadfast in their faith, and they did not complain or regret. With their high moral character and their diligent attitude toward work, they managed to change the environment around them. People began reconsidering things. Someone said, “Every one of these Dafa practitioners is so upright and kind. They’re nothing like what is said on the television.” A leader said, “If I had a few more Dafa practitioners on my team, my job would be so much easier.” The CCP’s lies defaming Dafa could no longer hold up. Leaders and workers gradually changed their attitudes toward Dafa practitioners.

When the persecution first started, the leaders would worry that their workplaces had Dafa practitioners, as they did not want to be held responsible and implicated. Thus, they all wanted to push Dafa practitioners out. But after they learned that the CCP had fabricated evidence and framed Dafa, understood the truth, and saw that Dafa practitioners were sincere, kind, and tolerant, some leaders began competing to have Dafa practitioners in their teams. Workplaces, families, and neighbors changed from indifference and discrimination to friendliness and support. People’s respect for Dafa returned to what it had been before. Whenever Dafa was mentioned in casual conversations, people responded in agreement, “They are good people.”

Dafa practitioners conducted themselves well and thereby validated Dafa. Dafa informational materials reached households in every corner of the mining area. One by one, the lies defaming Dafa were exposed, and people truly awakened. People discussed with one another about the Tiananmen Square self-immolation being a hoax and was used to frame and persecute Dafa. Faced with the facts, the CCP’s lies and accusations against Dafa collapsed on their own. When officials were sent again to carry out “zero-out” campaigns or threaten Dafa practitioners, some leaders merely went through the motions or brushed the matter aside, while some even protected Dafa practitioners.

A police officer from a security office understood the truth about Dafa. When his leaders ordered him to search a Dafa practitioner’s home, he had no choice but to go because of the pressure. A group of officers went, and he entered the home first and saw that the table was covered with Dafa books. He immediately ran back outside and stopped the other officers from entering and said, “There’s nothing in this home. Let’s move on.” This happened several times, and each time he protected Dafa practitioners. Later, he was transferred to another work unit, where he was promoted to a deputy director. He received blessings for protecting Dafa practitioners.

Through the constant efforts of Dafa practitioners to clarify the truth over the years, more than half of the people had withdrawn from the CCP’s organizations and no longer wanted to associate themselves with the CCP. People eagerly asked for Dafa truth-clarification calendars, and many taxi drivers had “Falun Dafa is good” hanging in their cars. Most of the underground workers on the mining teams believed in Dafa. When going down into the mine, they habitually recited, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and they all wore Dafa amulets. They believed that gods would protect them and keep them safe.

Because the people in the mining area understood the truth about Dafa, blessings followed one after another. All the residential bungalows were included in a demolition and relocation plan, and people all moved into new modern apartment buildings. The mine’s economy recovered and flourished. Ore prices continued to rise, and employees’ wages increased. Wages and bonuses were paid every month, and the year-end bonuses were substantial. Today, when many other companies are experiencing poor financial performance, the mine’s financial situation is still improving. It was Falun Dafa that turned the mine’s fortunes around. People were able to distinguish good from evil and act with justice, and they received Heaven’s blessings.

The following are several examples of people becoming healthy and escaping danger by reciting “Falun Dafa is good.”

A Dafa practitioner recounted, “My coworker and I worked together underground in the mine. Once, my coworker was struck by falling ore and was unable to move. We carried him out of the mine, and when we reached the main tunnel, we used an ore cart to transport him out. He was lying in my arms, so I told him to recite, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ He believed in it deeply and kept reciting it. I carried him out of the mine, and we took him to the hospital. By that time, he was already able to walk on his own. The doctor examined him and found nothing wrong. It was truly miraculous, as in the mine, people struck by falling rocks usually either die or suffer severe injuries. Later, my coworker said that he was sincerely reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ the entire time and that Dafa had saved his life.”

A Dafa practitioner recounted, “My father is a retired miner and is now 77 years old. My mother and I practice Falun Dafa, and my father has always been very supportive and believed in it as well. One night in the fall of 2023, at around midnight, my father called me and said that his stomach hurt terribly. I quickly went to his home, carried him to the car, and drove toward the city hospital that was over 60 kilometers (more than 37 miles) away. On the way, my father and I loudly recited together, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ When the pain was severe, my father silently recited it. When the pain eased somewhat, he recited it aloud. About 15 minutes later, my father said, ‘Son, it really works! It doesn’t hurt at all anymore. It’s amazing. Let’s go home. We can go to the hospital tomorrow and have it checked.’

“The next day, we went to the city hospital. Examinations indicated that he had cholecystitis, gallstones, and common bile duct stones, with the bile duct completely blocked. The doctor said that surgery would be necessary and ordered an enhanced MRI to see how severely the bile duct was blocked so they could use the information as a reference during surgery. I took my father for the MRI. He continued to recite, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ In the afternoon, I showed the MRI results to the doctor, and the doctor said in amazement, ‘The stones in the bile duct are gone. There’s no need for surgery. Give him anti-inflammatory injections for two days, and he can be discharged tomorrow.’ My father happily said to me, ‘It was Dafa’s Master who helped me.’

“From then on, my father would recite ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ several times before going to bed every night. After this experience, my father believed even more deeply in Dafa’s extraordinary nature.”

Another Dafa practitioner recounted, “I am an accounting clerk at a work unit of the mine, responsible for the materials, plans, requisitions, and consumption of materials for the entire unit. This is considered a very lucrative position because it can receive lots of bribes. Sometimes people approach me and say that if I write up several material requisitions for them, we can exchange them for money and split the proceeds. I always respond by saying, ‘I practice Dafa. I can’t do something like that.’ Because I was conscientious and responsible at work and never took a penny for myself, the leader of my workplace trusted me completely. Later, he entrusted me alone with all the money and property related to the workplace’s wages and bonuses. He said, ‘I could never find anyone else as trustworthy as you.’

“I had a close coworker who often listened to me talk about Dafa. I told her that when faced with danger, reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ could help one escape danger.

“One year, the town experienced a once-in-a-century flood. A nearby village was completely washed away, and hundreds of people died. This coworker’s home was on a mountain. Her husband happened to be on duty at work that day, leaving only her and her daughter at home. The heavy rain continued. Lightning flashed, and thunder roared outside, while rocks on the mountain came tumbling down with a rumbling sound. Terrified, she hugged her daughter, and they shouted together, ‘Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Master Li, please save us!’ The next day, when she went outside, she was utterly stunned. Two very deep gullies had been washed out on both sides of her house, yet her earthen house remained completely unharmed, as though it had been covered by a protective shield. Even more amazing was that only one corner of her field was washed away, while the crops suffered no damage at all. Other areas had suffered devastating losses. When she saw me, she was extremely excited and told me how she had escaped the danger that day. She said that reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ had saved her and her daughter’s lives, and she was so grateful to Dafa. She said she would continue reciting it often.”

One practitioner said, “My mother lived with us, and we all practiced Dafa. My mother’s many illnesses disappeared after learning the practice. After the persecution began in 1999, my husband and I were persecuted, and my husband was arrested many times. The police and community officials often came to our home to harass us. My mother was constantly worried about us and eventually could not bear it. My older siblings also pressured my mother not to practice Dafa. Gradually, she stopped doing the exercises and studying the Fa.

“Quickly a year passed by. In 2005, a growth appeared at the corner of my mother’s right eye. It grew larger and larger until it eventually covered half of her right eye. My siblings took my mother to a medical university hospital for an examination. After an assessment by specialists, they said it was a malignant tumor and required surgery. If surgery were performed, half of her right eye socket would have to be removed, and the doctors could not guarantee that her left eye could be saved. My mother was nearly 80 at the time, and the whole family was at a loss.

“On the day of the surgery, my mother was placed on the operating table and connected to the equipment. After some time, the doctor suddenly said, ‘Ma’am, your lung capacity is insufficient. The risk of the operation is therefore too high. We cannot perform the surgery without a consent form from you and your family.’ My siblings discussed it and did not dare sign the consent form, so my mother returned home.

“I took the opportunity to talk to her, ‘Mom, you used to be so steadfast in practicing Dafa. All your illnesses disappeared, and Master did so much for you. We must not forget that. After you stopped practicing, the illness came back. Even spending money in the hospital cannot save you. Mom, you need to understand what this means. The hospital won’t perform the surgery, and this actually shows that Master is still taking care of you. He hasn’t given up on you and still recognizes you as a practitioner. Come back and practice Dafa.’ My mother said, ‘It’s not that I don’t want to practice. All these years, I’ve been frightened and worried because of what happened to you, and I couldn’t bear it. But I never forgot Dafa in my heart.’ I said, ‘Mom, from now on, nothing will happen to us. Don’t worry and just practice Dafa.’ My mother walked before Master’s picture, and said to Master with tears, ‘Master, I was wrong. I will practice Dafa again.’

“Just like that, my mother returned to practicing Dafa. Every day, she persisted in studying the Fa extensively, doing the exercises, and reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good.’ A miracle then occurred. The tumor on her eye grew smaller every day. After a little over a month, the tumor disappeared—it miraculously dissolved. Relatives and neighbors were all amazed and witnessed the extraordinary nature of Falun Dafa. When my siblings saw this, they supported her practicing Dafa. Two of my sisters came to deeply believe in Dafa and began to carry Dafa amulets with them all the time.”

There have been so many examples of people in the mining area benefiting from reciting “Falun Dafa is good.” Those who understand the truth are all grateful to Dafa practitioners and say, “Thank you!”

Dafa practitioners always respectfully respond, “Don’t thank me. Thank Dafa’s Master. It was Falun Dafa that saved you.”
